Prerequisites

1 Remove the optical drive
2 Remove the base cover.
3 Remove the fan.

Procedure

1 Remove the two screws (M2.5x5) that secure the left hinge to palm rest and keyboard assembly.
2 Open the left hinge.
3 Open the latch and disconnect the power-button board cable from the system board.
4 Peel off the tape that secures the power-button board to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
5 Remove the screw (M2x3) that secures the power-button board to the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
6 Lift the power-button board, along with the cable, off the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
