9 Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting

You can eliminate minor issues on your appliance
Troubleshooting
yourself. Please read the information on eliminating issues
before contacting Customer Service. This may avoid
unnecessary repair visits.
WARNING
Improper repairs are dangerous.
Only authorized service providers should repair the
appliance.
Issue
Noise during operation.
Noise when the appliance is turned
off.
Lights and fan blower do not work. The circuit breaker has tripped.
Fan blower does not work.
The hood causes the breaker to
trip.
The hood is not venting properly.
Two short beeps sound.
Cause and troubleshooting
Some noise is normal due to vibration and air movement.
Excessive noise can indicate an issue with installation.
Excessive noise could indicate one of the following issues:
1.
– Ductwork is too small / undersized
– Ductwork is too large / oversized
– Ductwork is loose
– Transition is too small or is loose
– Wood screws are not fully tightened
– Loose screws in trim parts, etc.
Check the Installation Guide to verify that the ductwork is the proper size.

Tighten screws.
3.
The backflow flap on the outside of the duct wall cap moves with the wind.
This is normal. There is no action required.
Check circuit breaker or fuse box to your house.

Make sure there is proper electrical power to the appliance.

The electric wiring is incorrectly connected.

The circuit is not sufficient.

The hood might be too high from the cooktop.
The hood may not be centered above the cooktop.
The make up air is not sufficient.
The wind from opened windows or opened doors in the surrounding area is
affecting the ventilation of the hood.
Close all the windows and doors to eliminate the outside air flow.
There is a blockage in the duct opening or ductwork.
Remove all blockage from the ductwork or duct opening.
Duct length might be too long, too many elbows, "back to back" elbows, or too small
roof.

Buttons incorrectly pressed.
Press and hold FILTER and LIGHTS for 3 seconds to turn the control tone off or
on.
Note: You can also turn the control tone off or on in the Home Connect® app.
If the power cord or the appliance power cable of this
appliance becomes damaged, it must be replaced with
a special power cord or special appliance power cable,
which is available from the manufacturer or the
manufacturer's Customer Service.
Only original spare parts may be used to repair the
appliance.
If the appliance has an issue, call Customer Service.
