Serial Port

The system board is equipped with an onboard serial port at
location CN4 for COM 1. It is also equipped with a 9-pin connector
at location J5 for COM 2. These serial por ts are RS-232
asynchronous communication por ts with 16C550A-compatible
UARTs that can be used with modems, serial printers, remote
display terminals, and other serial devices.
To connect COM 2, insert the connector that is attached to the
serial port cable to J5. Make sure the colored stripe on the ribbon
cable is aligned with pin 1 of J5.
BIOS Setting
Configure the serial ports in the Integrated Peripherals submenu
("Super IO Device" section) of the BIOS. Refer to chapter 3 for
more information.
