9.10 Left Heater Core Covers, Removing and
Installing, Front A/C Unit Installed
Removing
– Remove the lower left instrument panel trim. Refer to ⇒ Body
Interior; Rep. Gr. 70 ; Instrument Panel Overview .
– Remove the accelerator pedal module. Refer to ⇒ Fuel Supply
System; Rep. Gr. 20 ; Accelerator Pedal Mechanism; Accel‐
erator Pedal Module with Throttle Position Sensors, Removing
and Installing .
– Detach the relay carrier (with control modules) which is instal‐
led in left area next to A/C unit and set it aside.
– Remove the bolts -A- and -B-.
Note
If the bolt -B- is not accessible due to unfavorable tolerances,
carefully separate section -E- from cover, then press cover -D-
carefully toward left from floor carpet to remove the bolt.
– Disengage the cover -D- from the mounting points -C-, the
catch at pass-through for coolant pipes and from the wiring
harness secured to the upper side.
Installing
– Install the removed components again in reverse order.
9.11 Preparing Adapter Cables for Control
Motor Actuation
– Connect one wire with a cross section of 0.25 mm
terminals "5" and "6" of one connector -A- (part number 6Q0
972 706). Refer to the Parts Catalog.
– Connect the other end of each wire to a commercially available
banana connector -B-.
