ADJUSTING THE ENGINE IDLING
SPEED
1. Measure:
• Engine idling speed
Out of specification → Adjust.
Engine idling speed
730 ± 30 r/min
Measuring steps
(1) Start the engine and allow it to warm
up for a few minutes.
(2) Install the tachometer onto the spark
plug lead of cylinder #1.

2. Adjust:
• Engine idling speed
Adjustment steps
(1) Loosen the pickup adjustment screw 1.
(2) Align the center of the throttle control
lever cam roller 2 with the mark a.
(3) Turn the throttle stop screw 3 in direc-
tion b or c until the specified engine
idling speed is obtained.
