3.15 Sound Test
To execute the sound test, select 12 from the DIAGNOSTIC TEST menu, press Enter and
follow the directions on the screen. The sound test contains three subtests that test the
T4850CT's sound functions.
Subtest 01
CODEC (REC/PLAY)
Tests the functions of the Codec (AD1848) A/D, D/A converter. At the same
time, tests the microphone and headphone terminals. When you execute
AD1848.com, a key-input message is displayed. Press Enter to record sound.
Immediately after recording, the sound will be played back.
Subtest 02
SINE wave playback
Uses DMA and IRQ to play previously sampled sine wave data. The channels
used are DRQ1 and IRQ7.
Subtest 03
FM Synthesizer
Tests the OPL3 (YMF262) functions. The sound interval and tone can be
controlled by an internal register. When the program is executed, an eight-note
scale is played.
