3.3 Accuracy Check
To check test accuracy and proper performance of the BODTrak
instrument, test a standard BOD sample and evaluate it for one or
more of the chemical, physical, or biological effects described in
3.2 Interpreting Test Results.
Follow proper laboratory technique when handling materials,
samples, and waste. Wear eye protection and latex gloves to
avoid illness or infection.

Use a mixture of 150 mg/L each of glucose and glutamic acid as
the BOD standard. A prepared BOD standard solution, 3000 mg/L
each of glucose and glutamic acid, is available as the Voluette
Ampule Standard for the Manometric Method (Cat. No.
14866-10). A 1:20 dilution of this standard (to 150 mg/L) is
incorporated in the following procedure. Follow this procedure to
analyze the 3000 mg/L prepared standard sample:
