25 Troubleshooting Guide

25.1 Chain Saw and Battery

Always remove the battery before carrying out any inspection, cleaning or maintenance.
Condition LEDs on
Battery
Chain saw does not
start when switched
on.
1 LED flashes
green.
STIHL AR only:
Additionally,
four long beeps
are emitted.
1 LED glows
red.
4 LEDs flash

Possible Cause Remedy
No electrical contact ► Remove the battery, @ 17.2.

► Engage the chain brake, @ 16.1.

compartment and on the battery.
► Reinsert the battery, @ 17.1.
Battery has low ► Charge the battery, @ 11.
