Procedure 1. Pole-Mounting the Power Node/30
STEP
At the selected location, install the mounting pole.
1
Prepare two 5/8" threaded rods by installing a flat washer, a lock washer, and a
2
hex nut on one end of each rod.
At the desired height for the top of the cabinet from the ground line, drill a hole
3
through the pole using a 3/4" drill bit.
Insert one threaded rod into the hole from the rear of the pole.
4
Raise the PN-POLE-STABILIZER and place the bracket's upper mounting hole on
5
the threaded rod.
Install a flat washer, a lock washer, and a hex nut on the rod. Hand tighten the hex
6
nut just enough to hold the bracket in place.
Ensure that the PN-POLE-STABILIZER is level and mark the pole through the
7
bracket's lower hole; swing the bracket away from the pole and, at the marked
position, drill a hole through the pole using a 3/4" drill bit.
Swing the PN-POLE-STABILIZER back in the straight position and align the
8
bracket's lower hole with the pole's hole. Insert the other threaded rod into the
hole from the rear of the pole.
Lift the Power Node/30 cabinet onto the PN-POLE-STABILIZER, inserting the
9
bracket's tabs into the slots on the cabinet's upper angle bracket.
Align the center slotted hole in the cabinet's lower angle bracket with the threaded
10
rod installed in Step 8. Install a flat washer, a lock washer, and a hex nut on the
threaded rod.
Fasten the cabinet to the PN-POLE-STABILIZER with four 3/8" — 16 x 3/4"
11
bolts, lock washers, and flat washers through the holes in the cabinet's upper and
lower angle brackets.
Securely tighten all mounting hardware.
12
Establish a good local ground [generally 25 ohms or less, with a 5-foot (minimum)
13
ground rod], and attach a #6 ground wire to the rod; some locations may require
additional rods to achieve a resistance to ground of less than 25 ohms.
Attach the #6 AWG ground wire from Step 13 to the ground attachment point on
14
the side of the Power Node/30 box; see Figure 3.
NOTE: Although the cabinet can be mounted directly to a pole, Pulsecom strongly
recommends using the PN-POLE-STABILIZER bracket.
