Connecting up
6.7 Signaling contact
• Note the wiring rules (Page 55).
• The signaling contact can be controlled manually via the user interfaces. Information on this
can be found in the Configuration manuals (Page 8).
Risk of electric shock and property damage due to voltage being too high
The signaling contact can be operated in the voltage range of 19.2 to 31.2 V DC or 19.2 to 30.0
V AC and subjected to a maximum load of 100 mA.
With higher voltages or currents, there is a risk of electric shock and damage to the device.
Position and assignment
The connection is located on the front of the device.

Signaling faults
• The indication of errors by the signaling contact is synchronous to the "A" alarm LED, see
section ""A" LED (Page 33)".
All errors indicated by the "A" alarm LED (configurable) are also signaled by the signaling
contact.
• If an internal fault occurs, the "A" alarm LED lights up and the signaling contact opens.
• If you connect a communications node to an unmonitored port or disconnect it, this does not
cause an error message.
• The signaling contact remains open until one of the following events occurs:
– The problem is eliminated.
– The current status is entered in the fault mask as the new desired status.
