3.2 Installation of the outdoor antenna

Before installing the outdoor GNSS antenna, it is advised to measure the GNSS signal strength at the intended
location on different days. For this purpose, if no suitable measuring device is available, a commercially
available navigation system can be used which displays at least the signal strength and the number of satellites
received. Due to the daily changing constellation of the GNSS satellite system, it is advisable to switch to a
different suitable location in case of critical conditions.
Please ensure that the outdoor antenna GNSS is not placed in the vicinity (at least 10 m
distance) or visibility of the radiating element (transmitting antenna), as this may cause
interference that can lead to the failure of the system.

The GNSS outdoor antenna (white) is directly mounted on a flat surface
on the roof by means of the provided base and can be weighted with
the throw over weight.
Pull the antenna cable through the stainless-steel base onto which the
GNSS antenna will be screwed later. Make sure that the TNC plug at
the end of the cable is hand-tightly bolted to the socket on the GNSS
antenna.
Now screw the antenna to the pedestal. Be careful not to twist the
cable.
Finally, attach the antenna to a solid surface in a position that provides
a good, clear view of the sky.
