Checking Command Syntax

Checking Command Syntax
The serial console interface provides several types of responses to incorrect command entries:
Command Line Entry
Command line that does not contain any valid
commands.
Valid command that does not contain required
options.
Valid command that does not provide valid
options or parameters.
In addition, some commands have command-specific error messages that notify you that a command is
valid, but that it cannot run correctly.

For a list of all commands and a brief description, enter help or ?, and then press Enter.
For syntax help on a specific command, type the command name, a space, a dash, and a lowercase
h, and then press Enter, for example, arp -h. The help contains command usage information and
syntax.
