Description
3.1
Recloser principle and design
Reclosers are used in overhead distribution systems.
They
are designed to switch
any current
including
making and breaking normal and fault currents. They are fully
equipped with sensors and
the
controller being the
protection
and control device.
Vacuum Reclosers 3AD are outdoor circuit-breakers designed
for repeated tripping
and
reclosing in
case of
fault.
One
sequence
can consist of
up to
five
trips
and
four
recloses.
The Vacuum Recloser 3AD consists of
two
main components: Switch unit (Fig
.
11)
and control cubicle (Fig.
10).
The development, design and testing of
the
Vacuum Recloser 3AD is based on
current regulations and standards and state-of-the-art
technology.

Switch unit with embedded vacuum interrupters
The switch unit comprises the
poles,
the operating mechanism
and the
housing
.
It
can be installed to a pole mounting or sUbstation frame (see chapter 4.2.2 or
4.2.6).
Three switch
unit
types can
be distinguished:
-
3-phase Recloser Design 27 (see Fig
.
12 and
Fig.
13)
-
3-phase Recloser Design 38 (see Fig.
14 and
Fig
. 15)
-
1-phase Recloser (see Fig
.
16 and Fig.
