Placing Phone Calls Using the Cable/DSL Voice Enabler

Once your Net2Phone account has been activated* and your Voice Enabler is
properly connected, follow these simple instructions in order to place a phone
call**:
1. Pick up the receiver.
2. Dial the number, including the area code.
3. The In Use Net2Phone LED will light up, indicating that the phone call is
being routed.
If your Voice Enabler is installed properly and your account is set up, the
phone call should be completed.
If you experience any difficulty, refer to the Net2Phone
Troubleshooting/Frequently Asked Questions section of the manual.
*If you currently have a Net2Phone PC2Phone or Net2Phone Direct account number, it can not

Using the Phone to Change the Voice Enabler's Settings

Some settings of your Voice Enabler can be determined and/or changed using
the telephone that is attached to the Enabler, rather than with the Web-based
Utility. Refer to the chart below for a list of the settings that can be changed
and how to change them.
Please note that 0** is the default, so if you have not changed any settings at
all, using either the phone or the Web-based Utility, you are depending on
your DHCP software to assign the Voice Enabler an IP address. Also, dialing
any of the entries listed above with no other numbers after it will result in the
Voice Enabler reporting that particular setting back to you. For example, if
you dial 1** with no numbers after it, the Voice Enabler will "read" the cur-
rently assigned IP address to you. If you dial 3** with no numbers after it,
the Voice Enabler will "read" the currently assigned Gateway IP Address to
you.
N N o o t t e e : : Changing any of these settings will affect how the Voice Enabler connects to
and is recognized by your network. Make a note of all settings b b e e f f o o r r e e changing
them, so you can restore them if necessary. Entering improper values may result in
an inability to make calls using the Voice Enabler.
