Before use
Before using the charging cradle, please read this manual thoroughly and
retain it for future reference. See also the manuals provided with your Sony
Personal Communicator.
The Sony COMP-CR1 is the charging cradle designed exclusively for Sony
Personal Communicator.

Notes on use
• Do not place the unit in locations that are:
– Extremely hot or cold
– Dusty or dirty
– Very humid
– Vibrating
– Sandy
– Exposed to direct sunlight
• Do not apply mechanical shock or drop the unit.
• Be sure that nothing metallic comes into contact with the metal parts of
this unit. If this happens, a short circuit may occur and the unit may be
damaged.
• Do not operate the unit with a damaged cord or if the unit itself has been
dropped or damaged.
• Always keep the metal contacts clean.
• Do not disassemble or convert the unit.
• While the unit is in use, it gets warm. This is normal.
On cleaning
Clean the unit with a soft dry cloth, or a soft cloth lightly moistened with a
mild detergent solution. Do not use any type of solvent, such as alcohol or
benzine, which may damage the finish.
Charging the battery

Connect the AC adapter.
Plug the smaller end of the AC adapter (supplied with the Sony
Personal Communicator) into the cradle and the other end into a wall
outlet.
Note: Make sure to connect the AC adapter designed exclusively
for your Sony Personal Communicator.

Confirm the battery.
Make sure the battery is installed in the Sony Personal Communicator.

Set the Sony Personal Communicator on the cradle.
Set the hollow pit of the Sony Personal Communicator onto the
projecting tab of the charging cradle as shown.
Push down on both upper sides of the Sony Personal Communicator
until it clicks into place.
Charging starts.
