Modernmobilehomeshavebeendesignedtobeenergyefficient.Install
smokealarmsasrecommendedinRecommended Locationsand
Image2A.
Inoldermobilehomesthatarenotwellinsulatedcomparedtopresent
standards,extremeheatorcoldcanbetransferredfromtheoutside
totheinsidethroughpoorlyinsulatedwallsandroof.Thismaycreate
athermalbarrierthatcanpreventthesmokefromreachinganalarm
mountedontheceiling.Insuchunits,installthesmokealarmonan
insidewallwiththetopedgeofthealarmataminimumof10cm(4")
andamaximumof30.5cm(12")belowtheceiling(Image2A).
Ifyouarenotsureabouttheinsulationinyourmobilehome,orifyou
noticethattheouterwallsandceilingareeitherhotorcold,installthe
alarmonaninsidewall.Forminimumprotection,installatleastone
alarmclosetothebedrooms.Foradditionalprotection,seeImage1A.
WARNING: Test your smoke alarm operation after R.V. or
mobile home vehicle has been in storage, before each trip and at
least once a week during use.

Easy Mount – Drywall Only
1.Chooseamountinglocation
(wallorceiling)anddrilla3/16"
diameterholeatleast1/2"deep.
2.Inserttheprovidedscrew
throughthemountingplate
aligningtheribsonthescrew
withtheslotsonthemounting
plate.
3.Tightenthescrew/mounting
platetowallorceilinguntil
mountingplateissnugagainst
surface.DONOTover-tighten.
