DTC P0562/P0563 ECM OUTPUT SUPPLY VOLTAGE

2

Circuit Description

The EFI system operates with a voltage of 9-16 volts. If
the system voltage drops below 6.2 volts the ECM will
reset. During normal operation, the MIL is illuminated if
the voltage is below 9 volts (setting P0562) or above 16
volts (setting P0563) for a specified amount of time.
NOTE: The M38 EFI charging system operates
independently of the battery charge system (if equipped)
and is only used for powering the EFI system. Any battery
charge system that may be supplied does not provide
power to the EFI system.

Diagnostic Aids

Check for the following conditions:
1. Poor ECM connection.
2. Inspect wire harness connectors for backed out
terminals, improper mating, broken locks, improperly
formed or damaged terminals, and poor terminal to
wire connection.
3. Damaged wire harness and/or connectors. If harness
appears to be OK, shake or wiggle wire harness
and/or connector with DVOM attached. Radical
voltage changes can indicate the location of the fault
condition.
Always clear DTCs after performing repairs.
