• ENGINE START – Provides additional amps for cranking an engine with a weak or run-down battery.
Always use in combination with a battery.
NOTE: See Operating Instructions for a complete description of the charger modes.

POWER ON/OFF BUTTON

Press to turn on or off the display and LEDs and enable or disable the START/STOP button.
NOTE: If AC cord is plugged into electric outlet, but the POWER ON/OFF button has not been pressed,
the display and LEDs will be off, except for the CAP CHARGING (green) and LITH CHARGING (green)
LEDs, which will give charging indications.

START/STOP BUTTON

If the AC cord is plugged into an electric outlet, press the START/STOP button to immediately begin
charging your properly connected battery. If the AC cord is not plugged into an electric outlet, press the
START/STOP button to enable detection of an engine crank.

DANGER: This device is intended to be used indoors only. Do not use outdoors.

1. Charging Temperature: .......................................................................................32°-113°F (0°-45°C)

CHARGING A BATTERY IN THE VEHICLE
Turn off all the vehicle's accessories.
4. Keep the hood open.
5. Clean the battery terminals.
6. Place the charger on a dry, non-flammable surface.
7. Lay the AC/DC cables away from any fan blades, belts, pulleys and other moving parts.
8. Connect the battery, following the precautions listed in sections 6 and 7.
9. Connect the charger to a live, grounded 120V AC outlet.
10. Press the POWER ON/OFF button.
11. Select the charge rate.
12. Press the START/STOP button to begin charging immediately. If the 6A CHARGE rate or the 30A
BOOST rate is selected, charging of the battery will automatically complete, and the charger will
automatically use the 30A BOOST rate during the first 10 minutes if needed with either selection.
After the first 10 minutes, the selected rate will be used.
13. When charging is complete, or if you want to stop charging, press the START/STOP button, press the
POWER ON/OFF button, disconnect the charger from the AC power, disconnect the clamp attached to
vehicle's chassis, and finally remove the clamp from the battery terminal.
CHARGING A BATTERY OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE
1. Place battery in a well-ventilated area.
2. Clean the battery terminals.
3. Connect the battery, following the precautions listed in sections 6 and 7.
4. Connect the charger to a live grounded 120V AC outlet.
5. Press the POWER ON/OFF button.
6. Select the charge rate.
7. Press the START/STOP button to begin charging immediately. If the 6A CHARGE rate or the 30A
BOOST rate is selected, charging of the battery will automatically complete, and the charger will
automatically use the 30A BOOST rate during the first 10 minutes if needed with either selection.
After the first 10 minutes, the selected rate will be used.
