Cleaning the lamp module dust filter screens
In dirty or dusty environments, the lamp module dust filter screens can become plugged, causing
excessively high temperatures inside the lamp module. Excessively high temperatures can cause
premature lamp failure. Routine maintenance to remove dust and dirt from the filter screens lowers the
lamp operating temperature and lengthens lamp life.
This Tech Note describes how to clean the lamp module dust filter screens. Clean them every 200-250
hours when the projector is used in areas with high levels of airborne contaminants such as lint, dust or
smoke.
1
To remove the lamp door, press the lip on the outside edge of the door until the door slides
inward. Then swing the door open.
2
Loosen the two captive screws that secure the lamp to the lamp housing.
3
Swing the bail on the top of the lamp module up, then pull the module out of the projector.
