3-5 GUI IC (ADV8003) failure detection procedure
GUI failure detection procedure 1
Check item(49).
Rewrite to the GUI ROM.
After writing, is the GUI version readable correctly?
NO
Checking device. (GUI)
Check the I2C communication line.
Check item(50). Check communication between CPU and the
HDMI Tx device.
Send the following command from Termite.exe.
Send the command "i 001A 00D0 0002".
Is the return value "6082" ?
If the communication results are not OK
If the communication results are OK
Check item(51).
Replace the GUI Rom(U1027).
Is the GUI version readable correctly?
NO
Check item(52).
Replace the GUI(U1026).
Is the GUI version readable correctly?
NO
Replace the PCB.
YES
Go to check item (3)
Example
If normal, "6082" is returned.
Go to check item (53)
YES

When the results of check item (50) are "the communication results are not OK"

Check the power supply voltage.
Check item(53). Check the power supply voltage

Does the power supply voltage of the GUI(U1026)
indicate the appropriate voltage (1.1 V, 3.3 V)?
The test points are as follows.
YES
The GUI (U1026) is faulty.
Replace with a new device.
Recheck from check item (1).
If it does not work, replace the PCB.

NO Check item(54). Check the power supply voltage

Check the power supply components (U1069,
Q1063) on the substrate and peripheral pattern.
If there is no problem, remove the GUI (U1026)
from the substrate and measure the voltage at
the test point of check item (53).
Is the voltage correct (1.8 V or 3.3 V)?
YES NO
The power supply circuit is faulty.
Replace the PCB.
