FLAME ADJUST
FLAME OF THE COOKTOP BURNERS
When converting your LP gas range to natural gas, some components
require adjustments to be able to use your stove correctly. The valves with
solid stem, as shown in the image on the right during the conversion of LP
gas to natural gas, require adjustment. To make this adjustment, call the
specialized Whirlpool technician.
Check if the flame is very large and with yellow tips:
1. When you have checked all the cooktop burners and adjusted the flames that need it, your
range will been ready for use.
Oven burner flame
When the oven burner is first lit, or when changing the range configuration to be used with LP
gas or natural gas, it may be necessary to adjust the height of the burner flame.
Follow these steps to perform this operation:
1. Check that the range is completely cold, and all the
knobs are in the off position.
2. Disconnect the power cord. Remove the tray from the oven floor, take the tray from the back
on both sides where shown in the figure below
and pull up and remove it from the range. (View
image).
3. Light the oven burner as explained in the
section "Oven burner", or "Models with electronic
ignition". 4. Remove the knob and store them in
a safe place.
5. Through the small hole, locate the adjusting
screw of the burner flame on the thermostat (see
figure below) and with a flat, thin screwdriver turn
it until you get a flame about 1cm high.
6. When the flame reaches the height of 1 cm, place the knob. Turn it to the off position.
7. Place the oven floor tray in its original position.
8. Turn on the oven burner again and continue with the operation check.
Oven burner flame (Applies to models with electronic ignition on the knob)
The different altitudes above sea level, the variations in the gas supply and the change of
configuration of the range to be used with LP gas or natural gas, make it necessary to regulate
the primary air inlet of the oven burner to obtain an adequate air-gas mixture and get the best
performance when used.
