The transmitter is designed with explosion-proof housings and circuitry
suitable for intrinsically safe and non-incendive operation. Each transmitter is
clearly marked with a tag indicating the approvals. To maintain certified
ratings for installed transmitters, install in accordance with all applicable
installation codes and approval drawings. Verify that the operating
atmosphere of the transmitter is consistent with the appropriate hazardous
locations certifications. Both transmitter covers must be fully engaged to meet
explosion proof requirements.
Factory Mutual (FM) Approvals
E5 Explosion Proof for Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, and D (T
Dust ignition proof for Class II, Division 1, Groups E, F, and G, Class III,
Division 1, hazardous locations.
Non-Incendive for Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D (T
Indoor and outdoor use. Explosion Proof approval only when connected
in accordance with Rosemount drawing 03144-0320. Ambient
temperature Limit –50 to 85 °C (-58 to 185 °F). For Group A, seal all
conduits within 18 inches of enclosure; otherwise, conduit seal not
required for compliance with NEC 501-5a(1).
K5 Combination of E5 and the following:
Intrinsically Safe for Class I, II, and III, Division 1, Groups A, B, C, D, E,
