Tighten the locking screw (12).
Auxiliary handle
For all work with the machine, the auxiliary handle (6) must be
mounted.
Screw the auxiliary handle (6) into one of the threads (10)
of the machine.
Mounting the disc (optional)
CAUTION
Before any work on the machine itself, pull the mains plug.
Use only grinding tools whose allowable speed is at least as high
as the no-load speed of the machine. Roughing and cutting
discs become very hot while working; do not touch before they
have cooled.
Mounting the grinding/cutting disc
Pay attention to the dimensions of the grinding disc.
The internal diameter of the disc must fit the inner flange (7)
without play. Do not use reducer pieces or adapters. When using
a cutting disc, take care that the direction of rotation arrow
on the cutting disc and direction of rotation of the machine
(direction of rotation arrow on the machine head) point in the
same direction.
Lock the spindle by pressing the spindle locking button (3)
(only when the tool is at a standstill!).
Unscrew the outer flange (9).
Fit the disk (8) on the inner flange (7).
Screw on the outer flange (9) and tighten with the pin
spanner (16). [F3]
Before switching on, check if the grinding disc is properly
mounted and can turn freely.
Initial operation
Always use the correct supply voltage: the power supply voltage
must match the information quoted on the tool identification
plate.
Switching On/Off
(AG-125S)
[F4]
Switching On
Slide the On/Off switch (5) forward without pressing.
Switching Off
Move back the switch (5).
(AG-125; AG-125D; AG-125G; AG-150; AG-150D;
AG-180D)
[F5]
The machine is equipped with a lock-off button (1) to avoid
unintentional starting.
Switching On
To switch the machine on, keep the lock-off button (1) depressed
and push the On/Off switch (5).
Switching Off
To switch the machine off, release the On/Off switch (5).
(AG-230R; AG-230DR1; AG-230DR2)
The machine is equipped with a lock-off button (1) to avoid
unintentional starting.
Switching On
To switch the machine on, push the lock-off button (1) and press
the On/Off switch (5).
Switching Off
Release the On/Off switch (5).
Operating instructions
Grinding
[F7]
The best results are achieved with an angle of 30° to 40° for
grinding. Move the machine back and forth with light pressure.
In this manner, the workpiece does not become too hot, no
discolouration occurs and no ridges are produced.
Under no circumstances should a cutting disk be used for
roughing work.
Fan grinding plate (Optional extra)
With the fan grinding plate, curved surfaces and profiles can
also be worked (contour grinding). Fan grinding discs have a
much longer service life, lower noise level and lower grinding
temperature than grinding discs.
Cutting
[F8]
When cutting, do not press, tilt or oscillate. Work with a moderate
feed rate that is suited to the material to be worked.
The direction in which one cuts is important.
The machine must always rotate opposite to the direction
of motion; therefore never move the machine in the other
direction! Otherwise, the danger exists that it will be forced
uncontrolled out of the cut.
When cutting profiles or square pipes it is best to start with the
smallest cross section.
