Preparing Your Workstation
Before starting the upgrade, use the following procedure to prepare the
workstation:
1 The workstation must be running HP-UX 10.20 or later with Additional Core En-

Your system may have less than optimal performance if it does not have the latest
version of the sched.models file. Use the command
/usr/sbin/swlist -l product | grep PHSS
to list the software patches on your system. If your system contains the patches
PHS_7816, PHS_10878, PHSS_12694, PHSS_15712 you need to update the file
/opt/langtools/lib/sched.models with PHS_16688 from IPR 9812.
Some early shipments of the C360 Upgrade Kits contain a special edition CD ROM,
C360/PA 8500 Upgrade Board Compiler Patch/HP-UX Diagnostics (p/n 5011-
4451), which contains the patch
diagnostics released with IPR 9812 and later software. If you have this CDROM in
your kit install the software for optimal performance of your system.
2 Determine the workstation's LAN ID by entering the following command:

the command uname -r to determine the revision of your operating system. It
should report B.10.20. If the workstation is running an older version of HP-
UX, update the operating system software before continuing. Use the command
/usr/sbin/swlist -l bundle | grep ACE to view what software products are load-
ed in your system. If the product list includes B6193CA, you do not need to up-
date HP-UX.
