    8 Troubleshooting The system is built to last long and perform its multi-functions with utmost efficiency. It is also user-friendly, both in its normal operations and when it encounters a system problem. It alerts you to possible problems by way of screen messages that also give you the correct instructions to solve the problem.

    Please return used batteries to the shop from which you bought them, to the dealer from whom you purchased your PC, or to HP so they can either be recycled or disposed of in a sound way. Returned used batteries will be accepted free of charge.
  • Page 19 Error Message: DISPLAY SWITCH IS SET INCORRECTLY Cause: Display switch on the mainboard is set at color. This message indicates a different switch setting than indicated in Setup. Action: First, determine the correct setting; then either change the jumper setting, or run Setup to re-select a proper video option.
  • Page 20 HP Quick Start Error Message: RAM – CHECKING FOR SEGMENT . . . Cause: Indicates an error in the RAM module. Action: Change the malfunctioning RAM module. Error Message: SYSTEM HALTED, (CTRL–ALT–DEL) TO REBOOT Cause: Indicates the present boot attempt has been aborted and the system must be rebooted.

  • Page 23 Message d’erreur: DISPLAY SWITCH IS SET INCORRECTLY Cause: Le commutateur d’affichage sur la carte mère est réglé à couleur. Ce message indique un différent réglage de commutateur qu’indiqué dans le programme d’installation. Action: Premièrement, déterminez le réglage exact; changez alors le cavalier, ou exécutez le programme d’installation pour resélectionner une option vidéo correcte.

Außerdem ist er benutzerfreundlich, sowohl bei Normalbetrieb, als auch beim Auftreten von Gebrechen. Sie werden rechtzeitig in Form von Bildschirmnachrichten über mögliche Probleme informiert und erhalten genaue Anleitungen zu deren Lösung.

  • Page 27 Fehlermeldung: ERROR ENCOUNTERED INITIALIZING HARD DRIVE / ERROR INITIALIZING HARD DISK CONTROLLER Ursache: Festplatte konnte nicht initialisiert werden. Maßnahme: Vergewissern Sie sich, daß der Controller korrekt installiert ist und alle Kabel korrekt angeschlossen sind. Vergewissern Sie sich, daß im BIOS der korrekte Festplattentyp eingerichtet ist.
  • Page 28 HP Quick Start Fehlermeldung: SYSTEM HALTED, (CTRL–ALT–DEL) TO REBOOT Ursache: Der Startvorgang wurde unterbrochen; der Rechner muß neu gestartet werden. Maßnahme: Drücken Sie <STRG> + <ALT> + <ENTF> gleichzeitig. WARNUNG: Ist das CD-ROM-Laufwerk fehlerhaft, dürfen Sie das Lasermodul nicht öffnen, da Sie sonst einen Stromschlag erhalten oder Ihre Augen durch Laserlicht verletzen.

    Ritorna le batterie scariche al negozio dove le avevi comprate, o al distributore da cui hai acquistato il PC, o alla HP in modo che possano venire riciclate o eliminate in un modo sano. Le batterie usate ritornate verranno accettate gratuitamente.
  • Page 31 Messaggio di Errore: INTERRUTTORE DISPLAY IMPOSTATO IN MODO NON CORRETTO Causa: L‘interruttore del display sulla scheda madre è impostato a colori. Questo messaggio indica una diversa impostazione di interruttore di quella indicata in Imposta. Azione: Anzitutto determina l‘impostazione corretta; poi cambia l‘impostazione jumper, oppure esegui Imposta per selezionare di nuovo una opzione di video adatta.

Acción: Apriete en F1 para ignorar las interrupciones NMI o bien F2 para continuar.

    HP Quick Start Erros relacionados ao BIOS Quando o BIOS detecta um erro durante a ativação do sistema ou durante o POST (Power-On-Self-Test – Força em auto teste), o monitor de apresentação normalmente mostra uma mensagem que lhe indica a causa do problema e também o modo de resolvê-lo.
  • Page 39 Mensagem de Erro: A CHAVE DE APRESENTAÇÃO ESTÁ INCORRETAMENTE PROGRAMADA Causa: A chave de apresentação no quadro principal está programado em cor. Esta mensagem indica uma programação diferente de chave daquela indicada no Setup. Açãp: Primeiro, determine a programação correta, ou modifique as programações de troca, ou corra o Setup para re-selecionar uma opção de vídeo apropriada.
