Clearing Paper Jams

If a paper jam occurs in the scanner, follow the procedure described below.
CAUTION
Be careful when removing jammed paper. It is possible to cut
your hand on the edge of a sheet of paper.
1.
If the paper feed tray is closed, open it.
2.
While squeezing the OPEN release ( ), open the front unit towards you ( ).
3.
Remove the jammed paper from the feed or eject section.
Notice
Do not pull hard on the jammed sheet; remove it gently. If the sheet rips, be
sure to remove all the remaining pieces of paper.
