Creating a virtual token

A virtual token works very much like a Java Card or USB Token. The token is saved either on the

a user PIN to complete the authentication.
To create a new virtual token:
1.
In HP ProtectTools Security Manager for Administrators, click Credential Manager in the left pane.
2.
Click My Identity, and then click Register Smart Card or Token.
3.
On the Device Type dialog box, click Virtual Token, and then click Next.
4.
Specify the token name and location, and click Next.
A new virtual token can be stored either in a file or in the Windows registry database.
5.
On the Token Properties dialog box, specify the Master PIN and User PIN for the newly created
virtual token, select Register smart card or token for authentication, and then click Finish.
The Token Properties dialog box is displayed.
6.
Type the User PIN, select Register smart card or token for authentication, and then click
Finish.
