Alarm
The alarm function provides a tone whenever the measured resistance is more than or less than the
alarm resistance value. Setting up the alarm is a two-step process: Use Step 1 to change the alarm
resistance value (the setpoint). Use Step 2 to determine whether the alarm will sound when the
measured resistance is more than or less than the setpoint.
Step 1. Changing the Setpoint

Press and hold the AL button while turning on the power; the rightmost digit of the alarm setpoint
flashes.

To save the setting, turn the unit off.
Step 2. Changing the Alarm Trigger
1.
Turn off and disconnect the unit from the
conductor.
2.
Place the unit face down and remove the
screws from the back cover.
3.
Remove the back cover by pulling down and
away from the unit.
4.
To trigger the alarm when the measured
resistance is:
• More than the set point, set Switch 2 to the
lower position.
• Less than the set point, set Switch 2 to the
upper position.
5.
To enable the alarm, press the AL button after
turning the unit on.
Hold
Press the HOLD button momentarily to hold the
present measurement on the display. Press again to
exit this mode.
