Operation

When you use the air conditioner for the fi rst time or change the settings, follow the procedures below.
From next time, pushing the ON/OFF button starts running of the air conditioner with the chosen settings.

Standby
Operations are not accepted when "SETTING" is blinking.
REQUIREMENT
• Keep the power switch turned on during use.
• When you resume using the air conditioner after a long period of disuse, turn on the power switch at least
12 hours before starting running.
• When the power is turned on, it takes about 1 minute before the remote controller becomes operable.
This is not a malfunction.
■
Running operation
Some operation modes are not available depending on the type of indoor unit.

ON/OFF button
Push this button to light the operation lamp and
start operations.
When heating
• The heated air comes out after a 3 to 5 minutes
of pre-heating with the indoor fan kept turned
off.

Select the operation mode
Push the Menu button several times to select the
operation mode.
• The current operation mode fl ashes.
Each time you push the setting button, the
operation mode and its icon change in the
following order:
Heat Cool Fan
(Cooling only mode will not display: "
" Heat")
• If you do not push any button for 30s, the
operation mode fi nishes.

Select the fan speed
Push the Menu button several times to select the
fan speed mode.
• The current fan speed indicator fl ashes.
Each time you push the setting button, the fan
speed mode and its indication change in the
following order:
• Five-speed models:
Auto Low Low + Med.
• When cooling and heating operation, "AUTO"
has the same fan speed as "High".
• FIX " " is displayed for models capable of
the fan speed setting.
• If you do not push any button for 30s, the fan
speed mode fi nishes.

Select the temperature
Push the setting button to adjust the temperature.
• The temperature can be set in steps of 1.0°C.

COOL : Cools the fresh air and sends it into the room
HEAT : Heats the fresh air and sends it into the room
FAN : Sends the fresh air as it is
The fresh air intake unit controls temperature of the supply air so that it is close to the setup temperature of the
remote controller.
However temperature of the supply air may not be close to the setup temperature according to temperature of the
outdoor/suction air of the operation condition of the indoor units for air conditioning in one line.
REQUIREMENT
• The air conditioner with the fresh air intake unit connot control the room temperature.
• For control of the room temperature, an indoor unit for air conditioning is required separately.

Use conditions
• In COOL mode, if temperature of the outdoor/suction air is under the setup temp. +3°C, FAN status is
automatically made.
When temperature of the outdoor/suction air is under 19°C, FAN status is also made regardless of the setup
temperature.
• In HEAT mode, if temperature of the outdoor/suction air is over the setup temp. -3°C, FAN status is automatically
made.
When temperature of the outdoor/suction air is over 15°C, FAN status is also made regardless of the setup
temperature.

REQUIREMENT
• In "COOL" or "FAN" mode, if temperature of the outdoor/suction air is under 5°C, the operation stops
automatically in order to protect the equipment.

In this case, continue the operation by selecting "HEAT" mode.

• In "HEAT" mode, if temperature of the outdoor/suction air is under -10°C (*1) the operation stops automatically
in order to protect the equipment.

When operating the fresh air intake unit with the outdoor/suction temperature under -10°C (*1), make sure to
control over -10°C (*1) using a duct heater (locally procured).
For details, consult the dealer which you purchased the air conditioner.
*1 : In the case of combining with SMMS-u outdoor unit, the temperature capable of operating is -10°C or more.
In the case of combining with outdoor unit other than SMMS-u, the temperature capable of perating is to -5°C or
more.
