VAIO Digital Studio™ QuickStart Using the Standby Function When you plan to stop using your computer for a short period of time, you can put it in standby mode instead of turning it off completely. Putting the computer in standby mode saves energy and allows a quick return to normal computer use. You can use any of the following three methods for activating the standby mode.

Using the Standby Function Click Control Panel. Click Power Options. On the Power Schemes tab, select an option from the Power schemes drop-down list. Choose settings for the power scheme you have selected. ✍ To save the settings under a name that is not offered in the Power schemes drop-down menu, choose your settings and then click Save As.
