For maximum heat transfer, cookware that has a perfectly flat bottom is recommended.

11. When the Hot Surface Light goes out, press the ON/OFF Switch to the OFF position and unplug the appliance from the wall outlet. NOTE: When you have finished cooking and the appliance is hot you can place a pan of cold water on the appliance to avoid any one touching the hot surface. -
