Normal Condition: If there has not been
an intrusion, and no malfunciton has been
detected, the hazard warning lamps will
flash twice for 0.5 second, with a 0.5 sec-
ond pause between flashes.
Malfunction Indication: if there is a
malfunciton in the remote keyless entry and
the anti-theft system, the hazard warning
lamps will flash twice for 1 second, with a
0.5 second pause between flashes.
Alarm Indication: If there has been an in-
trusion since the last time the LOCK button
was pressed, the hazard warning lamps
will flash twice for 0.5 second, with a 1.5
second pause between flashes.
Alarm and malfunciton information in the
system will be erased the next time the sys-
tem is armed with the keyless entry trans-
mitter.
When the ignition switch is ON position, the
hazard warning lamps will not flash.
Anti-Theft Alarm Function
When the anti-theft mode is activated, the
alarm will sound for 30 seconds and the
hazard warning lamps will flash under the
following conditions:
1. When the door is opened without using
the transmitter or an ignition key.
2. When the passenger side door is
opened with the ignition key without
deactivating the anti-theft mode.
3. When the engine hood and trunk are
opened without deactivating the anti-
theft mode.
4. When starting the engine with the igni-
tion key without deactivating the anti-
theft mode.
To stop the alarm and the hazard warning
flasher, press any button on the transmitter.
Auto Door Lock
If the door is not opened or the engine is
not started within 30 seconds after unlock-
ing the door with the transmitter, all the doors
are automatically locked and the anti-theft
mode is activated.

Security Indicator*
The security indicator will flash when the
vehicle is under the anti-theft mode.
This indicator goes out when the anti-theft
mode is released by pressing the unlock but-
ton on the transmitter or opening the door
with a key.
