8. With a voltmeter set to DC, connect the
black probe to EB connector EBP3 pin-2 (GND)
and the red probe to EBP3 pin-1 (–7V).
If –7VDC is present, go to step 9.
If –7VDC is not present, check the harness
and connections between the CCU and EB.
If the harness and connections are good,
go to TEST #1 on page 12.
9. With a voltmeter set to DC, connect the
black probe to EB connector CIN4 pin-1
(GND) and the red probe to CIN4 pin-3 (Vcc).
If +5VDC is present, go to step 10.
If +5VDC is not present, check the harness
and connections between the CCU and EB.
If the harness and connections are good,
go to TEST #1 on page 12.
10. Perform TEST #14 for "Detergent Pump"
problem, or TEST #15 for "Level/Presence
Sensor Module" problem.
11. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
12. Reassemble all parts and panels.
13. Perform the "Quick Diagnostic Test"
on pages 4–5 to verify repair.
TEST #14: Detergent Pump
Perform the following checks if the detergent
pump does not meter the necessary amount
of detergent to the tub based on wash cycle
and user selection.
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Remove top panel to access machine
electronics.
3. Visually check that the DEP2 connector is
inserted all the way into the EB. Refer to EB
diagram on page 20.
If visual check passes, go to step 4.
If connector is not inserted properly, reconnect
DEP2 and run a wash cycle to retest.
4. Remove connector DEP2 from the EB. With an
ohmmeter, measure the resistance across pins 1
and 2. Resistance should be approximately 1.6k Ω.
If the reading is infinite (open) or out
of range, go to step 5.
If the reading is correct, go to step 6.
5. With an ohmmeter, measure the resistance
across the detergent pump's 2-pin connector
DO NOT REMOVE OR DESTROY
attached to the top of the dispenser.
Resistance should be approximately 1.6k Ω.
If the reading is infinite (open) or out of
range, replace the detergent pump assembly.
If the reading is correct, check the harnesses
and connections between the detergent
pump and EB. Repair as necessary.
6. With a voltmeter set to AC, connect the
voltmeter leads across the detergent pump's
2-pin connector attached to the top of the
dispenser.
7. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
8. Select Normal Wash cycle and press
START. Watch for line voltage across pins
1 and 2 of the pump connector. NOTE: This
voltage can only be measured when the
detergent pump is actuated, for approximately
1-5 seconds toward the end of the FILL cycle.
If line voltage is present, replace the
detergent pump assembly.
If line voltage is not present, replace the
expansion board.
9. If the preceding steps did not correct the
drain problem, replace the CCU.
Unplug washer or disconnect power.
Replace the CCU.
Reassemble all parts and panels.
Perform the "Quick Diagnostic Test"
on pages 4–5 to verify repair.
TEST #15: Level/
Presence Sensor Module
Perform the following checks if the washer
cannot detect the presence of the detergent
drawer or the level of chemistry in the cartridge.
1. Verify that the detergent drawer is fully
inserted.
2. Press the "Auto Dispense" button
(description may vary with brand) to display
dispensing information and status. If the
information or status is invalid, proceed
to step 3.
3. Remove chemistry cartridge from
detergent drawer. Inside the cartridge, check
if float is stuck or damaged. Repair or replace
as necessary. Reassemble cartridge into
drawer and slide into dispensing system.
