The flue system must allow, in compliance with the regulations
in force, correct evacuation of combustion products without
return flows or condensation production.
It is recommended to use a terminal protection cover, where
the appliance is positioned less than 2 meters above ground
level, on the balcony, on a flat roof or in any place where a
person could have access to it.
The drainage system must be kept clean and uncluttered,
preventing it from filling up with shrubs, foliage or other
material that could obstruct it.
It is very important to ensure that the products of combustion
do not enter inside the thermal power plant, in the building
or in other adjacent buildings through fans, windows, doors
or other sources of natural or forced air infiltration. If there is
a risk of incorrect smoke evacuation, it is necessary switch
off the heat generator, make the necessary changes to
the system and, only afterwards, turn the generator back
on. When the installation includes a coaxial drain (for the
air intake and flue gas discharge) must be respected the
minimum distances from the roof and side walls of the
building, to avoid any possible re-leveling of the fumes of
combustion from the air intake duct.
The device is supplied as standard with a coaxial
connection (Ø100 / 150mm) for the intake of combustion
air (tube external) and for the expulsion of combustion
products (inner tube). To these fittings must be connected i
respective ducts. The evacuation duct for the products of the
combustion generally operates under positive pressure; from
consequently its installation must be particularly curated.
The drain system must correspond to one of the classes drain
indicated on the appliance plate and be made in compliance
with the national and local regulations in force.
The horizontal sections of the exhaust system must always
be connected to the heat generator with a negative inclination

Requirements and conditions
(50mm / m), so that condensation water does not accumulate
in the exhaust system. Thanks to the reflux of condensation
water towards the heat generator, the possibility of formation
of ice in the passage to the roof is minimal. In case of
terminals horizontal, the system must be connected externally
with a negative inclination, to avoid the entry of water rain.
Mounting in the exhaust system of a system condensate
collection aid is superfluous.

Ancillaries
To complete the flue gas system it is possible to install also:
•anti-intrusion grid on the intake duct;
•flue gas evacuation connection joint ø100 mm with smoke
test predisposition.
These components can be supplied by Rinnai Italia as
ancillary.
