Automatic Exposure Control (AEC)

The use of an AEC ensures optimal and reproducible image quality
independent of the radiation, the object exposed or other factors.
The AEC has three sensor elements (ionization chambers)
The AEC is mounted in the bucky of RAD Table and RAD Wall Stand between
the grid and the detector or cassette. It is fixed and not intended to be
removed from the bucky by the customer. If an exposure shall be done
without AEC, the free exposure workflow has to be used, where the detector
or cassette is placed outside the bucky, or the AEC has to be switched off in the
Software Console.
The AEC is calibrated during production with default values. The AEC can be
recalibrated during installation, defining three custom cut-off doses for the
AEC sensors, to suit user preferences or to balance out the three AEC sensors.
The shorted irradiation time when using AEC is 2 ms.

Note: The AEC sensor is located in the bucky above the cassette
or detector and may be slightly visible on the image. This
applies most to flat field exposures and less to diagnostic
images.
