CLEANING THE EXTERIOR

WARNINGS
If you use a car wash with a
waxing cycle, make sure that you
remove the wax from the windscreen.
Switch the heater blower off to
prevent contamination of the
fresh air filter.
Prior to using a car wash facility check
the suitability of it for your vehicle.
Some car wash installations use water
at high pressure. This could damage
certain parts of your vehicle.
Remove the aerial before using an
automatic car wash.
We recommend that you wash your
vehicle with a sponge and lukewarm
water containing a car shampoo.
Cleaning the headlamps

Do not scrape the headlamp
lenses or use abrasives, alcoholic
solvents or chemical solvents to clean
them.
Do not wipe the headlamps when
they are dry.
Cleaning the chrome trim
Do not use abrasives or chemical
solvents. Use soapy water.
Do not apply cleaning product to hot
surfaces.
Do not leave cleaning product
on chrome surfaces longer than

Vehicle care

Industrial strength (heavy-duty) cleaners,
or cleaning chemicals, may cause
damage over a period of time.
Underbody
Flush the complete underside of your
vehicle frequently. Keep body and door
drain holes free from packed dirt.
Cleaning the alloy wheels
Note: Do not apply a cleaning chemical
to warm or hot wheel rims and covers.
Note: Industrial-strength (heavy-duty)
cleaners, or cleaning chemicals, in
combination with brush agitation to
remove brake dust and dirt, could wear
away the clear coat finish over a period
time.
Note: Do not use hydrofluoric acid-
based or high caustic-based wheel
cleaners, steel wool, fuels or strong
household detergent.
Note: If you intend parking your vehicle
for an extended period after cleaning the
wheels with a wheel cleaner, drive your
vehicle for a few minutes before doing
so. This will reduce the risk of increased
corrosion of the brake discs, brake pads
and linings.
Note: Some automatic car washes
may cause damage to the finish on your
wheel rims and covers.
Alloy wheels and wheel covers are
coated with a clear coat paint finish. To
maintain their condition we recommend
that you:
Clean them weekly with the
recommended wheel and tyre
cleaner.
Use a sponge to remove heavy
deposits of dirt and brake dust
