In a non-switched configuration two DUs are connected directly to

To verify the operation of a DU in a non-switched

standard DTE activity such as logging-on or transmitting data.

Self-test

A DU self-test is performed automatically upon power-up,

be invoked manually by using the Self-test (Self Tst) push button

switch.
If a call is in progress when a self-test is performed,

the call will be dropped.

To Perform a Manual Self-test on the DU:
