A. Bearings
while removing pins.
Using a second 3/16" diameter punch, tap the single pin
out of trunnion shaft until it hits the housing. Tap both
pins out of the control shaft until the first pin hits the
housing.
Twist the swashplate (control shaft) back toward neutral,
and the first control shaft pin and the trunnion shaft pin
should fall into housing.
Tilt the swashplate (C, Figure 23) back to its full angle
(15°) and remove the second control shaft pin, using the
same procedure as for removing the first.
Note the orientation of swashplate to housing and mark
parts accordingly to ensure proper reassembly.
Remove control shaft (A, Figure 24) and trunnion shaft
(B) from swashplate (C) toward outside of housing (D).
The swashplate can now be removed from the housing.
Visually inspect two needle bearings (E). If necessary,
remove and replace bearings by pressing them to the
outside of the housing. The pump shaft bearing (F) can
be removed by pressing it toward open end of housing.

Reassembly

Press motor shaft and pump shaft bearings (refer to
Figure 21) into housing. Press needle bearings (E,
Figure 24) into each side of housing until flush to 1/64"
below counterbore (for lip seals).
Place swashplate into housing with counterbore for
thrust plate up. Install control (A, Figure 25), and trunnion
shafts (B), being certain shafts are on proper side. Align
holes in swashplate (C) and shafts.
Install new pins through swashplate and shafts. Use two
pins (D) on control shaft, installing first pin until second
pin can be started, then driving in both pins together until

the last pin is 1/4" below swashplate (refer to Figure 25).
The swashplate should swing freely in the pump housing
to 15° each side of center.
Press pump and motor shafts into bearings (see Figure
21).
Replace needle bearings (E, Figure 24) in end section.
Press bearings into end section leaving 1/16" to 1/8" of
bearing protruding beyond counterbore. The valve plates
pilot on these bearings.
