5 GENERAL INSTALLATION

5.1 digiGate position

5.1.1 Inside a building at control unit/switch

If the control unit/switch for your electric gates/garage/miscellaneous device is inside a building then
please follow these instructions.
1. Position your digiGate mounting bracket on a wall close to your gate/garage/miscellaneous control unit
and mark the position with a pencil by drawing through the 4 screw holes. This is where your digiGate will
be permanently situated.
2. Drill into the wall where you marked the 4 holes and insert the provided screw plugs.
3. Position the digiGate bracket over these plugs and screw the provided screws through the bracket holes
into the plugs so the bracket sits firmly on the wall.
The bracket needs to be the same orientation as the image below with the thicker plastic at the bottom left
corner.
Note: The position will need to be close enough for the switching cables to reach the device you are controlling. This is where
your digiGate will be located.

5.1.2 Outside at electric gates

If your control unit is situated at your electric gates and not in a nearby building you will need to position
your digiGate here.
1. Contact a qualified electrician to install a waterproof box at your electric gates. This box needs to contain
your digiGate and also 2 power sockets (one for powering digiGate and the other for achieving an Internet
connection via an ethernet-over-power device - sold elsewhere). The power supply should be taken directly
from your electric gates.
The box will need water tight holes for the switch cables to go through to reach the gates control unit.
2. Ensure the box is very close to the gates control unit as this is what your digiGate will connect to with the
switch cables.
