10 MISCELLANEOUS SYSTEM INSTALLATION

Note: It is recommended that digiGate is installed by a qualified electrician to avoid any incorrect wiring, potentially resulting in
product malfunction and/or injury. digiGate supports switching up to 10 amps.

10.1 What you need

To install a digiGate miscellaneous control system (switchable device), you will need your digiGate and
2 mains switch cables from the device you are switching. These instructions are for switching a mains
powered device such as outdoor lights or a water feature for example.
10.2 Connecting to your device
Note: These are generic instructions and the device you are switching with digiGate may differ. If you have trouble installing,
please contact us at installation@digiGate.co.uk with a photo and make/model of the device you will be switching and we will
get back to you with instructions on how to install your digiGate to your specific device.
1.
IMPORTANT:
Isolate the device you are switching from any mains power.
2. Connect the other end of the mains live cable to terminal 1 using the method described in section 5.2
and ensure it is properly inserted with no metal from the cable exposed, to avoid any short wiring or injury.
3. Connect one end of the mains switch cable to terminal 2 with the other end in the device you are
switching. Please also ensure these cables are properly inserted with no metal from the cable exposed to
avoid any short wiring or injury.
4. With the cables connected, you must now mount your digiGate onto the mount provided. This is
imperative
if you are switching mains voltage as the screw terminals are then protected from being
touched. Instructions for mounting your digiGate can be found ahead in section 11.
Note: You
MUST
make sure that there is no metal exposed from the cabling entering the screw terminals. Touching an exposed
live elecrical cable can lead to serious injury or even death.
