Checking drive chain tension

Important
Have chain tension adjusted by a Ducati Dealer
or authorised Service Centre.
Make the rear wheel turn until you find the
position where chain is tightest;
with a finger, push down the chain at the point of
measurement and release;
set the motorcycle on the side stand;
measure the distance (A) between the centres of
the chain pin, placing the tape measure between
the plastic and the swinging arm in front of the
retaining screw (B):
A = 45 ÷ 47mm (1.77 ÷ 1.85 in);
A = 40 ÷ 42 mm (1.57 ÷ 1.65 in) (Taiwan versions
only).
Important
This only applies to the motorcycle STANDARD
settings, available upon delivery.
