5. PI/O Module
 Diagnostic functions
1) Counter stop diagnostics
2) ROM/RAM check; WDT supervision; and power supply supervision
3) I/O bus transmission diagnostics
4) Duplex switching status diagnostics
5) External power supply voltage drop detection
*1 Among pulse inputs, it is possible to detect failures of the insulation and input areas
(each CH independent) by comparing the primary and secondary count values
when redundant. The errors at this time, which are displayed as input deviation
errors (AIE), are issued to both modules of the redundant configuration.
Examples of how failed modules are specified.
* Secondary-module error when the control is not affected
* Primary-module error when the control is affected
If diagnosing this part is necessary when single, the need can be handled via
software by entering parallel inputs into two modules.
*2 Panel SW and status display are not targeted for diagnosis. By conducting power
ON/OFF tests during routine maintenance, it is possible to check the
absence/presence of failures of panel switches and the lamp indication statuses of
panel LEDs.
*3 Some consistency errors may not be detected due to the timing of the diagnosis
cycle, etc.
