The intent of EU's ecodesign requirements is to ensure that energy-related products operate efficiently
and are able to be disassembled for repair, upgrade, or recycling, in order to limit their potential impact on
the general energy supply and the enviroment. Servers and data storage devices have been identified as
significant products in this regard.
In compliance with ecodesign requirements, this document provides information about the OpenFlex
F3x00 and E3000 related to its manufacturing and operation, and instructions for secure data deletion and
disassembly.

1.3   Secure Erase and Sanitize
For the OpenFlex F3x00 and E3000 , initializing and sanitizing a device can be accomplished from the same
page in the OCGUI. These features provide the option to securely erase the mapping table and erase all
of the blocks that have been written to the devices. The Secure Erase and Sanitize features may also be
executed from the API.
