Installing the Gearbox Guards
Parts needed for this procedure:

Gearbox guard

Joint guard

Drive-assembly guard

Nut (1/4 inch)

Shoulder bolt

Spring washer

Washer (9/32 inch)

Bolt (1/4 x 5/8 inch)

Bolt (3/8 x 1/2 inch)

Bolt (1/4 x 3/8 inch)
Procedure
1. Position the machine on a level surface, shut off the
engine, and engage the parking brake.
2. If there are no mounting holes in the fuel-tank
support bracket, drill the 2 holes (5.6 mm or 7/32 inch
diameter) as shown in
1. 76 mm (3 inch)
2. 100 mm (3.9 inch)
3. Attach the guard mount to the fuel-tank support
bracket using 2 bolts (1/4 x 3/8 inch) as shown in
Figure
2.

4. Attach the joint guard to the drive-assembly guard
using a bolt (1/4 x 5/8 inch), spacer, washer (9/32
inch), and nut (1/4 inch) as shown in
