Routing the Cable

Route the GTM 11 cable so that it does not interfere with vehicle
operating controls. If the cable is not long enough, a 2-meter extension
cable is available from your Garmin dealer or at http://www.garmin
.com/products/gtm11.
Notes about the Hook-and-Loop
If you use the hook-and-loop fastener to attach your GTM 11 to the
A-pillar, you can also install a strip of loop material on the A-pillar of
another vehicle. This allows your GTM 11 to be completely portable.
Notes about the Wire Antenna
Use the wire antenna instead of the whip antenna if either of the following
is true:
• The whip antenna does not get an adequate signal strength.
• You wish to hide the GTM 11, perhaps in the glove compartment or
under the dash.
If you use the wire antenna, you should route the wire along the A-pillar
and around the windscreen. The wire can be tucked under the plastic of
the A-pillar and under the head-liner to hide it. The GTM 11 can also be
hidden from view when the wire antenna is used.
If necessary, shorten the wire antenna by cutting the excess wire using
scissors.
