Instructions for the power supply cord
A A short power-supply cord is provided to
reduce risks of getting tangled up or tripping
over a longer cord.
B Longer extension cords are available and
may be used if care is exercised in their use.
C If a long extension cord is used:
1 the marked electrical rating of the extension
cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance.
2 if the appliance is of the grounded type, the
extension cord should be a grounding type
3 the cable does not hang from the table to
avoid the risk of getting caught up in it.
Setting up the Espresso coffee
machine:
1. Remove the extractable water tank (6).
2. Unscrew
(counterclockwise).
3. Fill the boiler (12) with enough water to
reach the ¾ mark (approx. 0.8 lit.) on the
water level indicator (23). Do not fill beyond
the top of the water level indicator. If this
happens, turn the machine upside down to
pour out excess water.
Important: Always check the boiler (12)
water level before using the machine. A lack
of water in the boiler will cause the safety
thermostat to cut off power to the heating
element in order to protect it. If this happens
the thermostat will have to be reset. See the
"Troubleshooting" section.
4. Replace and tighten (clockwise) the boiler
cap (4) and make sure the steam knob (7)
is also tightly closed.
Important: The boiler must never be opened
when the coffee machine is operating. To
remove the boiler cap, make sure the main
switch (1) is in the "0" (off) position. Then
slowly open (counterclockwise) the steam
knob (7) and wait until all steam has been
released from the steam nozzle (8).
5. Fill the water tank (6) (approx. 1 liter) and
replace it in the machine.
NB: Once the boiler has been filled, the
water tank (6) may be filled, when
necessary, without removing it.
6. Insert the portafilter (9) into the coffee group
(14) and lock it by turning it from left to right
until it stops. The portafilter handle will
position towards the right.
7. Insert the plug (19) into a proper outlet (see
the "WARNING" section page 9, Point
1).
