2 .9 Sim N e t
The Sim Net cable syst em wit h very sm all plugs in bot h
ends m akes it easy t o run t he cables, only 10 m m ( 3/ 8" )
holes are required t hrough panels and bulkheads. The
Sim Net accessory program cont ains t he necessary it em s
t o m ake a successful inst allat ion. Refer t o Sim N e t

Sim N e t n e t w or k ca ble s
A Sim Net unit has one or t wo yellow Sim Net connect ors.
There are no dedicat ed " in" or " out " connect ors. Rout e
t he Sim Net cables wit h Figure 2- 11 or Figure 2- 12 as a
guideline. Select cables and accessories from t he Sim Net
accessory pr ogram . Connect product s wit h t wo Sim Net
connect ors in a daisy chain and use drop cables and T-
j oiners when required. For cable ext ension in- line cable
j oiners are available. Tot al lengt h of Sim Net cable
inst alled in a syst em should not exceed 150 m et er ( 500') .
I f you plan t o ext end your Sim Net syst em in t he fut ure it
m ay be advant ageous t o prepar e for it by adding a few T-
j oiners in cent ral locat ions. The T- j oiners provide easy
access t o t he net work and can be replaced wit h a new
product , or t he new product can be connect ed via a drop
cable.
The connect ors are weat her proof according t o I P66,
when properly inst alled. All unused Sim Net connect ors
m ust be fit t ed wit h t he plast ic cap t o prot ect t hem against
dirt and m oist ure.
