Conventions Used in This Manual

The following conventions are used in this manual.

GPIB board
AT-GPIB/TNT for Windows Graphics
Bold text denotes menus, menu items, dialog buttons, LEDs,
options, or checkboxes.
Italic text denotes emphasis, a cross reference, or an
introduction to a key concept.
Bold italic text denotes a note, caution, or warning.
Text in this font denotes text or characters that are to be
literally input from the keyboard, sections of code,
programming examples, and syntax examples. This font is
also used for the proper names of disk drives, directories,
programs, subprograms, subroutines, device names, functions,
variables, field names and filenames.
Bold text in this font denotes the messages and responses that
the computer automatically prints to the screen.
Italic text in this font denotes that you must supply the
appropriate words or values in place of these items.
Angle brackets enclose the name of a key on the keyboard—
for example, <PageDown>.
A hyphen between two or more key names enclosed in angle
brackets denotes that you should simultaneously press the
named keys—for example, <Control-Alt-Delete>.
Key names are capitalized.
AT-GPIB/TNT refers to a National Instruments GPIB board
for the ISA (PC AT) bus equipped with the TNT4882C ASIC.
AT-GPIB refers to a National Instruments GPIB board for the
ISA bus equipped with the NAT4882 and Turbo488 ASICs.
GPIB board refers to either the AT-GPIB/TNT or the
AT-GPIB board in cases where the material can apply to
either board.
