    Before you start Before you start Assembly WARNING Read the operator's manual carefully to ensure that you assemble the product correctly. Using a product that has been incorrectly assembled could lead to an accident or serious injury. Connect the powerhead/outer tube to the gearcase Place the Powerhead/Outer tube assembly on a clean, flat surface, spark plug facing up.

Tighten the screws finger-tight only at this time. Locate the handle in the best position for operator comfort (usually about 10 inches ahead of the throttle housing).

The attachment will operate immediately when the engine starts and could result in loss of control and possible se- rious injury.
  • Page 22 Engine operation 1. Starter handle Engine warm-up Once the engine starts, allow it to warm up for 2 to 3 minutes at idling (i.e. low speed). Warming the engine helps to lubricate its internal workings more smoothly. Allow the engine to warm up fully, especially when it is cold.

  • Page 26 Maintenance and care Every unit is test run at the factory and the carburettor is fine tuned for maximum performance. Before adjusting carburettor, clean or replace air filter, start en- gine and run several minutes to bring it to operating temperature. The engine must return to idle speed whenever the throttle lever is released.
  • Page 27 Maintenance and care Daily Maintenance Prior to each work day, perform the following: Remove all dirt and debris from the engine, check the cooling fins and air cleaner for clogging, and clean as necessary. Carefully remove any accumulations of dirt or debris from the silencer and fuel tank.
  • Page 28 Maintenance and care Gearcase lubrication Lubricate the cutter assembly gearbox by pumping one or two strokes of lithium-base grease into the grease fitting using a le- ver-type grease gun. CAUTION Over lubricating can cause the gearcase to operate sluggishly and can cause grease to leak out. 1.

Rimuovere con cura eventuali accumuli di sporcizia e detriti dalla marmitta e dal serbatoio del carburante.
