Recycling the Clippings

This machine comes from the factory ready to recycle
grass and leaf clippings back into the lawn. To prepare
the machine to recycle:
If the side-discharge chute is on the machine,
remove it and install the side-discharge deflector;
refer to
Removing the Side-Discharge Chute

18).
If the grass bag is on the machine, remove it; refer
to
Removing the Grass Bag (page
If the rear-discharge plug is not installed, grip it by
the handle, raise the rear deflector, and insert it
into the rear-discharge chute until the latch locks
into place; refer to

Bagging the Clippings

Use the grass bag when you want to collect grass and leaf clippings from the lawn.
If the side-discharge chute is on the machine, remove it and install the side-discharge deflector before bagging
the clippings; refer to
Removing the Side-Discharge Chute (page

Raise and hold up the rear deflector (A of

Remove the rear-discharge plug by pulling down on the latch with your thumb and pulling the plug out

Install the bag rod into the notches at the base of the handle, and rock the bag back and forth to ensure
that the rod is seated at the bottom of both notches (C of
